Cloud technology company Ubitus has received investment from Sony, Square Enix and Tencent. It was announced in a press release.
Ubitus did not disclose the exact amount of the investment. They only noted that the funds made by the partners “confirm their confidence in the company’s technology and its potential in the market. According to Bloomberg’s sources, the amount is $45 million.
Ubitus was founded in 2007 in Taiwan by Wesley Kuo. It now has offices in China, Korea and Japan. It works closely with developers and publishers of video games. It is best known for its cloud-based versions of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Resident Evil VII for Nintendo Switch.
